The Duo

The Hamburg-based guitar duo consists of Lucas Etcheverria (Brazil) and Nikolai Voigt (Hamburg). They create a new sonic world with their 6- and 7-string guitars, combining elements of Bossa Nova, Samba, and Brazilian classical music with traditional "Baixarias" (bass lines) from Choro music.

Their repertoire ranges from newly interpreted masterpieces (including works by Villa-Lobos, Dilermando Reis, João Pernambuco, Yamandu Costa) to hidden gems of Brazilian music, which they bring to life in their own refined arrangements. This gives traditional Brazilian music a new dimension, in which the two guitars complement each other alternately – sometimes as a rhythmic foundation, sometimes as a solo voice.

They combine structured composition with freedom of play and improvisation to reimagine this music in a modern light.
